Labour Law

Labour law is a piece of legislation that deals with a wide range of matters affecting the employment relationship. These range from establishment and recognition of Trade Unions and Employers’ Organisations, to dealing with strikes, dispute resolution and procedures necessary to be followed.

Employer/employee relations are a central part of the employment relationship, and also define the processes necessary for dealing with disputes that may arise. This requires experienced and intricate knowledge of the various sections of the Act which employers most often lack. Indeed it is this legislation that often demands the assistance of a person who has experience and the necessary knowledge to deal with any matter pertaining to the terms listed in the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995 (LRA).

Because of the intricacies provided for in the LRA, joining an Employers’ Organisation such as HASEA is, to some extent, essential. Organisers of HASEA are schooled and experienced in dealing with assisting employers with the terms of this legislation.
