Registering of Members to the Bargaining Councils

There are Bargaining Councils which have been formed to collectively negotiate and address conditions of employment for different sectors. There are, for example, the metal industry, road freight industry, catering industry and many others which have been formed to negotiate and agree upon conditions of employment for employees who are members of Trade Unions party to the different Bargaining Councils.

Quite often employers are unaware of the fact that the nature of their work falls within the scope of a Bargaining Council and would therefore be violating the terms and conditions listed in the Main Agreement, resulting in a situation where they are instructed by the said Bargaining Council to comply.
